As of today I have 38 mini-mixes from the weekly broadcasts and every week I get the newest show... I am gonna post a few mixes here now but I am getting geared up for the big event of the summer.......Sonar, one of the biggest, if not the biggest, electronic music festival in the world. For the past two years MAH has had a stage there featuring the latest and most influential electronic acts from all over the world....in 2008 she had Shackleton, Flying Lotus and Mala of Digital Mystikz.....this year its Joker, The Gaslamp Killer and Martyn headlining.....talk about fucking fire.....not to mention the Brainfeeder shows off-Sonar in both London and Barcelona itself.....man I wish I were going..it goes down the 18th in three days and I have read it will be straight fire....anyways I'll post their mixes after they air on her show next week.....until then here is a few good ones from her past shows.....short but sweet......

TOKiMONSTA is the LA based lady Flying Lotus had to have on his label.... I know little about this cute little Asian chick but I do know she takes it old school like Dilla and Madlib if she can play the instrument she will loop all the parts together to make her beats and you can tell.....

Frustration

So I've been listening to a ton of Paul Pre's DJ work lately. I love it. However, it's extremely frustrating when you hear a song you especially dig and want to look up the artist and song. They need track times on the playlists. Let's change the industry.

Adubbs - It's also really frustrating to come to this music blog and see something Peaceblaster related. Just not needed.

Evan also pointed out that it's frustrating that you can't google Ear Candy and find this blog in the search results. Therefore, I propose a name change to something completely original. I know I suggested Ear Candy. It just may be time for a change.

Attention to one of Daniel Dumile's many alter-egos, Viktor Vaughn, is mostly focused on Vaudeville Villain, which is an amazing album. Venomous Villain has a different cast of producers but they still lay down a perfect foundation for Viktor's smooth flows.

STS9 - Shock Doctrine (Welder Remix)

While I normally would not post anything STS9 related, I felt that I must post this. This remix was leaked by STS9 this week in order to hype up the new Peaceblaster remix album due for digital release on June 23rd. Eventhough Peaceblaster was mediocre at best, after listening to this and looking at the track list and the contributing artists, I must say this is something that I will buy. Nosaj Thing

When I first heard Nosaj Thing about two years ago I remember not being to impressed or anything. My has this guy come a long way since then. This Demo 2008 EP has solidified Nosaj Thing as a major player in the hip-hop and electronic music realms. The last track, Aquarium, was used by Kid Cudi for his uber popular Man on the Moon which Nosaj Thing gets production credits for....All the tracks on this EP are gems I listen to this frequently in the car and is set to be an instant classic so enjoy the beats.....

Too Short

The other Bay area crap that is out there, besides some of the Thizz Nation artists i.e Mista F.A.B. and Mac Dre (R.I.P.), pales in comparison to one of the most influential Bay area rappers, Too Short. 2006's Blow the Whistle is probably his most famous album and song but the rest of his shit is just as dope. I like Blow the Whistle cuz it mostly about his former occupation....pimping and gang bangin'....original shit....get it!
