Iron Horse

Iron Horse is a bluegrass foursome out of one of the legendary recording capitals of bluegrass Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Although I do not particularly care for bluegrass in my day to day life I do find the cover albums these guys do are great to listen to. They cover famous albums from the likes of Guns N' Roses, Black Label Society, The Shins and Ozzy....Here I have provided their bluegrass tributes to Metallica and Modest Mouse.....The Modest Mouse one is really tight and i have not finished listening to the Metallica tribute yet but it sounds pretty good thus far so here you go......These are for Nate (Big Red) who hates "techno"

Cold Legistics' Deeper Than You Think: Instrumental EP 2009 will most definitely wow any listener. Fixated with sampling, Cold Legistics properly places snipits from all over. In the song Protect Your Investments, there is one of the greatest samples I've heard. Carlton from The Fresh Prince explaining how he lost his virginity. Absolutely Awesome. Other than my love for late 90s sitcoms, the music produced would definitely make his idol, The Late JDilla, undeniably proud.

Old School Funk

So I just downloaded this album like two days ago, it's Cymande's self titled album from 1973. I was cruising in the Mil listening to 91.7 WMSE and this song comes on that I know from somewhere. It hits me, it's from one of my favorite movies, The 25th Hour, A Spike Lee Joint with Edward Norton. It's from the scene when the high school girl is floating around the club rolling on E. The song is Bra. The rest of the album is solid funk, but Bra is definitely some ear candy that I'll be floating to when I run the marathon in 8 days. Enjoy!
