Keaver & Brause

Keaver & Brause are a little known production team out of Midlands in the UK. I came across The Middle Way about a month ago and has been on heavy rotation ever since. Their beat-making skills rival the heavy hitters in the scene. They use Eastern influences like Madlib and Krush do so well and add an original flavor all their own. Not your typical boom boom clap, the piano rolls are flawless and work well with the ambient undertones they frequently use...Summers t'Say and Airborn are standouts but the whole album in its entirety is really worth the download there is not a bad song on this album so cop it.....

Scratch Perverts

Prime Cuts, Plus One and Tony Vegas.....The Scratch Perverts.....well they USED to do amazing hip-hop sets running six decks three mixers and busting shit up......now if you'll visit their myspace, which I have provided a link for, you can here a really bad Cockney Thug Remix originally by Rusko and previews of their upcoming "mix album" which is their term not mine hence the quotes.......I don't know I am a skeptic about their music but they certainly do have chemistry when it comes to playing other peoples music......all of them have been voted in top ten DJs at one point or another and have an exceptional stage presence almost like the Glitch Mob but with more turntablist elements.....anyways I have never heard them do a predominantly dubstep/bass mix and this was exciting to be able to pick this up it is no doubt pretty womp womp in the beginning but a good listen and a definite must have for any Perverts fan it's actual pretty sick once you get into about the 18th minute I believe, and then a few minutes later get really silly and it starts to grow on you, but don't quote me on that formulate your own opinion by listening the whole way through just under an hour long you can do it....enjoy.....

The Emperor Machine (redux)

And now for something completely different...

Since it's summertime, I figured I'd post something other than club music for once. The Emperor Machine is the nom de guerre of Andy Meecham (of Chicken Lips fame (though I use the term "fame" rather loosely here)). The proper Emperor Machine albums are themselves consistently great. It's usually a jumble of funky styles, from krautrock to left-field jazz to afro funk. Not surprisingly, this mix he recently put together for FACT magazine is a funky/psychadelic tour through his varied influences.

1. Nina Nardini - Afro-Beat
2. The Natural Yogurt band - Voodoo
3. The Fitzcarraldo Variations - Gamma Modelo
4. Bajka - The Only Religion I Believe
5. The Starlights - Mao Mao
6. The Natural Yogurt Band - Soft Cheese
7. Snakefinger - What Wilbur
8. Dynastie Krisis - Faust '72
9. C.C.S. - Brother
10. Spin - Grasshopper
11. Venus Gang - Love To Fly
12. Antonio Carlos & Jocafi - Desacato
13. Dory Previn - Mary C. Brown and The Hollywood Sign (Emperor Machine Mix)

Right Click etc.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Sorry for getting your hopes up. FACT has a shitty policy of taking mixes down after three weeks. You just missed your chance. Early bird and what have you.

To make up for it, here's another mix of Emperor Machine selections (though they're only picks from the label he's on).

One last thing, if you missed out on the above mixtape, go get The Natural Yogurt Band album. As Helf would say, it's super headie.

Nadsroic

Finally found the Nadsroic Room Mist EP thought I'd be nice and share....All production done by HudsonMo....both out of Glasgow, though Nadsroic now resides in rural suburbia outside Tokyo, their team-up is sending waves through the undeground scene....her sonic intense voice mixed with dirty raps and delivery and beats from HudMo sure make for an awesome listen.....definitely in my must have category check it.....
